Grow the king of radishes in your own backyard! Minowase Daikon is a legendary Japanese variety that produces massive, pure white roots that can easily grow up to 24 inches long. Despite its huge size, it maintains an incredibly crisp, tender, and surprisingly sweet flavor.
These pure, untreated seeds are a staple for Asian cuisine, perfect for pickling, grating with tempura, or adding a mild crunch to salads. Daikon is also famous for its deep taproot, which helps naturally till and aerate compacted garden soil!
š PURE & UNTREATED
Sourced securely to ensure completely natural growing conditions; safely untreated for family gardening.
š MASSIVE SIZE
Produces beautifully long, smooth white roots that can reach 1.5 to 2 feet in length!
š¬ SWEET & MILD
Unlike small red radishes, Daikon is incredibly mild, juicy, and naturally sweet.
š± SOIL BUILDER
The deep taproots act as 'nature's tiller,' breaking up hard clay and improving soil health.
1. Seed Starting
Direct sow seeds 1/2 inch deep in late summer or early fall. Daikon prefers cooling temperatures.
2. Germination
Keep soil consistently moist. Sprouts usually appear in 5-10 days.
3. Thinning
Thin seedlings to 6-8 inches apart so the massive roots have room to expand.
4. Care & Feeding
Requires deeply tilled soil. Keep well-watered to ensure the roots remain sweet and tender.
5. The Harvest
Harvest when the white shoulders push up out of the soil. Be careful not to snap the long root!
